Siker Harwellben: WGISS nyugtázta egy ESA Danube Data Cube projekt indítását

Az ESA ESRIN képviselője Mirko Albani bejelentette egy Danube Data Cube projekt indítását, melyet a WGISS tudomásul vett. Az ausztrál gyakorlatot követő ill. felhasználó Kenya Cube és Colombia Cube után ez lesz a harmadik projekt, immár Európában.

A projekt három fázisból állna, az első "0."fázis a jövő héten már elkezdődik és október végére fejeződne be és az ulmi EC-Fórumon kerülne ismertetésre.
A jövő héten intenzív egyeztetés kezdődik a HUNAGI és potenciális érdekeltek között a felhasználói szegmensről, míg ezzel párhuzamosan Frascatiban az ESA ESRIN és a Geoscience Australia szakértői beszélik meg az architektúra műholdas, elemzésre kész adatok előállításának és az adatkocka létesítésének kérdéseit a rendelkezésre álló adatok, infrastruktúra és a nyílt forrású szoftverek maximális felhasználásával.

A WGISS (Feature Architecture for Data = FAD) néven munkacsoportot hozott létre az USGS, Geoscience Australia, CNES, ESA, GSDI, CSIRO és UKSA részvételével. A munka a GA, USGS és a CNES társelnökletével kezdi meg munkáját.

¡  GSDI/HUNAGI presented proposal for ESA Danube Data Cube at WGISS-39 Tsukuba, May 2015

        The proposal as idea was well received by Mirko Albani of ESA ESRIN

¡  Consulted the idea with the Hungarian DanubeNet liaison of the JRC Danube Reference Data Service Infrastructure (DRDSI) . It was well received

¡  The idea appeared in the Insiders’ view column of the GIM International Geospatial Magazine Issue July, 2015

¡  Awareness was made of the Directorate of the Environmental Sustainability of the Office of President of Hungary

In their reply they expressed their interest to follow the further development of the proposal and asked briefing by end of September

¡  Presented the idea at the HUNAGI General Assembly   Budapest, May 2015

The idea was well received by members

¡  Presented the idea at the EUROGI General Assembly   Brussels, May 2015

The aims of the idea were well received. An opportunity had been offered by ExCom member Domen Mongus (Univ. Of Maribor) to introduce and discuss the idea at the scientific forum held in Vienna next month.
