Subject: FeedMAP project: Invitation to the first FeedMAP user forum workshop on requirements for map data feedback
Dear ERTICO Partners,
The ActMAP forum has been very silent for the past months. Since the ActMAP project ended in 2004, the consortium continued its effort to bring better and more up-to-date maps to the market. ISO TC204/WG3 standardisation efforts of the ActMAP mechanisms and major inputs to the German PSF initiative prove that ActMAP concept has been widely accepted. In addition, 5 new EC-funded projects will use the ActMAP framework in their use cases and test implementations.
As a follow-up, the consortium has created an extended framework, called FeedMAP, combining map probing and incremental map updating. We received EC funding for a 30-month project which will study the commercial and technical feasibility of map data corrections using a map data feedback loop applied to the ActMAP framework for delivering incremental map updates. The project started in March 2006 and will complete his first phase in October 2006 with the description of the basic framework and requirements for map data feedback.
You are kindly invited to the first user forum workshop presenting the FeedMAP concept and the requirements for map data feedback. This one-day workshop will take place at ERTICO in Brussels on October 5 2006 between 9:30 and 16:30.
Please find attached the invitation to this workshop with the agenda and a reply form. You will also find information on how to reach ERTICO and a list of hotels.
You are kindly asked to register by 20 September 2006. Please note that a limited number of spaces are available.
I am looking forward to meeting you on 5 October 2006.
Sincerely,
Maxime Flament
FeedMAP coordinator on Behalf of the FeedMAP consortium.
