A HUNAGI már egy éve tagja az ECAI (nemzetközi elektronikus kultúrális atlasz kezdeménye-zés) szakmai közösségé-nek és sikerült ezt elérni az MTA Történettudományi Intézet, az ELTE Térképtudományi és Térinformatikai Tanszék, valamint a Nyugat-magyarországi Egyetem Geoinformatikai Kar egy-egy szakembere esetében is. A History GIS-Hungary tematikus HUNAGI munkacsoportot Lukács Lilla doktorandusz vezeti, alakuló ülésükre az ELTE tud.rektorhelyettese körében került sor, amelyről a HUNAGI Napló is beszámolt. Figyelemmel a Neumann János Kht Nemzeti Digitális Archívum (NDA) projektjére, továbbá a földrajzi nevek, a digitális névtér témakörben NDA kezdeményezésre a HUNAGI, a Magyar Földrajzinév-bizottság és a Magyar Tartalomipari Szövetség között megindult együttgondolkodásra, többek érdeklődésére tarthat számot a Berkeley Egyetemről érkezett tegnapi posta, amely az idei ECAI konferenciára hív fel.
Jövőre a konferencia sok-sok év után ismét Európába kerül vissza és annak várhatóan Párizs (UNESCO) ad otthont. A honi eredmények bemutatása a jövő évi találkozón reális célkitűzés lehet, HUNAGI bátorítja tagintézményeit és partnereit az erre való időbeni felkészülésre. Ehhez segíthet hozzá az ECAI konferenciák témaköreinek és felépítésének megismerése.

"ECAI is pleased to announce our Winter 2008 bi-annual meetings to be held in Ha Noi, Vietnam, December 4-6, 2008. These meetings will be held in conjunction with the Pacific Neighborhood Consortium (PNC) and a Japan-Vietnam Geoinformatics Consortium (JVGC).
ECAI is coordinating sessions on the following topics and we invite your submission of papers on:
Cultural Atlases
Inscriptions
Remote Sensing and Historical Mapping
Representation of Context
Cities
Additionally, submissions for both sessions and papers can be made to ECAI and PNC on the following:

Digital Libraries

About the Program
The program for the 2008 Annual Conference and Joint Meetings will include approximately 20-22 concurrent sessions. Each session will last 100 minutes and could have 3-4 speakers. Formats for sessions will be panel, presentation, small group or a combination. Session coordinators are responsible for determining the format.
Session Submission
Session/ panel proposals should include 3-4 papers, and the name of a chair, discussant,
and contact person. Please submit ECAI proposals directly to Dashielle Vawter – DashielleDV@berkeley.edu. The deadline for submitting session proposals is 1 July, 2008.
Paper Submission
Abstracts for individual papers and poster/demo presentations should be 250-300 words. We will be accepting these submissions throughout the summer.
